:32 for mitt romney. a pretty good night for mitt romney. expectations were so much higher for the president that he would come out swinging, but mitt romney clearly held his own, and all of the various issues, they went back and forth. we didn't hear some of the attack lines from the president, so many of us were expecting he would be making. neve heard him mention anything about the 47%, the controversial remark that mitt romney made in boca raton in a closed-door fund-raiser, didn't get him into the history at bain capital, exporting jobs. none of the issues of tax returns. spoke about the most important issues, economy, jobs, and all of what's going on. we're going to watch a scientific poll that we're doing right now to get the reaction of what going on, and we're going to see what that scientific poll says about who won this debate. we also had a focus group watching of independent voters, undecided voters who were there watching what was going on as well. mitt romney there with his family and some close associates, he seems to be pretty claesed with the performance that he did. as i s

guess is that an% were partisan-- that 10% were partisans. and i read that romney had a good night, but no evidence of change in the game. we will have to wait a couple days whether it changed the game. walmart sponsored focus groups with a democratic polling firm and others and it suggested that among walmart moms, it was a win for romney. the people in the group were divided between a win for romney or a tie. it says they were disappointed with the president's performance. they don't believe he made the case for our and other four years would be different or better. but it made the point that neither one of these guys really connected with voters on a personal level, but clearly the romney did a superior job of debating. so we will see a lot of reviews over the next few days. i think the key thing for us to watch is there's no question romney won the debate. the question is how much does this change things? in terms of national polls, he's going to get a few points out of this. but the more relevant points, does the move ohio and does he moved the swing voters in the swing states

after the wednesday night debate, we'll get the latest unemployment report. if governor romney could turn in a strong debate performance and another tepid jobs report, there's a chance for this race to change after debate number one. >> if you're the obama campaign, you're looking at all these numbers in our brand-new poll. what's most encouraging to you? >> reporter: in scrubbing through the demographics, the regional numbers, here's one thing they will like at the obama campaign. among white voters nationally, the president gets 41%. governor romney gets 56%. governor romney's beating him by a big number, how is that good for president obama? given the president's support among african-americans, latinos and other voters, governor romney needs to keep the president to 37%, no more than 38% of the white vote. if the president's cracking 47% of the white vote, that's a formula for an obama victory. and where are the key big battleground states? there are several in the midwest. ohio, iowa, wisconsin. look at the race in the midwest. obama, 52%, romney, 43%. the president is winning t
